The Pioneer of Wellness: Bringing Yoga and Sound Bath Experiences to Rural Roots

In the heart of rural Live Oak, where open skies stretch endlessly, and nature hums its quiet symphony, a unique sanctuary for movement, mindfulness, and healing has taken root. Twisted Roots Yoga, nestled on a 40-acre farm, stands as a beacon of wellness in a community where such offerings were once rare. The unique location of our studio, surrounded by the beauty of nature, is sure to inspire and intrigue all who visit.

Guided by the belief that 'if you build it, they will come,' the studio blossomed with a mission to introduce yoga and sound healing to this tranquil setting, creating a ripple effect of peace and transformation. The outdoor yoga deck, surrounded by trees and the gentle whispers of nature, is more than just a space for practice – it's a bridge connecting people to the earth and themselves.

The studio, with its roots deeply embedded in architectural and biophilic design, was meticulously crafted with a purpose. The incorporation of biophilic design, which seamlessly integrates nature into living and working environments, played a pivotal role in shaping the space. I chose the natural wood deck and open-air design to invoke a sense of calmness, balance, and connection. Every element, from the strategic positioning of the deck to the resonant sound of crystal bowls, was carefully selected to reflect our commitment to fostering healing environments.

Sound Bath Experience, called Sound of Stillness, emerged as a natural complement to yoga practice. Just as the wind dances through the leaves and birds sing to the morning sun, the vibrational energy of crystal bowls harmonizes the body and mind. Combining Yin Yoga and sound baths provides a profoundly restorative experience, gently guiding participants toward relaxation and inner stillness.

In this serene setting, visitors find sanctuary from the busyness of daily life. Breath by breath, they reconnect with the ground beneath their feet and the stillness within. What began as a small community of curious individuals has evolved into a dedicated collective, with each member committed to nurturing their well-being and contributing to the space's collective energy. This sense of belonging and community is what makes our studio a truly special place.

As we look forward to 2025, Twisted Roots Yoga is brimming with excitement to continue fostering growth and transformation. Our upcoming offerings, including the Yin Yoga & Sound events, provide a unique opportunity to reset and ground oneself for the year ahead. The Spring/Summer Sessions are designed to encourage intention-setting and mindful movement, inspiring each participant on their journey of personal growth and transformation.

Weekly classes, such as Monday Flow and Wednesday Beginner Sculpt, will continue, blending live-streamed sessions with outdoor practices on the deck, weather permitting. Candlelight Yoga, a community favorite, will also return to light the way through the winter months.

Wellness transcends location. It flourishes where intention and community meet, as seen in the Spring Awakening Sound of Stillness Series, even in the most serene and rural landscapes. Twisted Roots Yoga invites everyone to join this journey of growth and renewal, whether stepping onto the deck for the first time or returning for another season of transformation. Together, they create a sanctuary rooted in nature, love, and the timeless power of healing.

With love & light,

Elizabeth
