Elizabeth Wirick is the creative force behind Twisted Roots Yoga Studio and Sounds of Stillness, offering nature-based wellness and ecotourism experiences rooted in mindful movement, sound baths, and intentional connection to the land. Her small-group offerings invite locals and visitors to slow down, reconnect, and restore in a serene farm setting, blending yoga, sound healing, and mindful time in nature.
Elizabeth’s path into yoga and wellness began long before she opened her studio. She has been teaching group fitness, aerobics, and movement-based classes since the age of 16—bringing over four decades of experience guiding people of all ages and abilities toward strength, mobility, confidence, and well-being.
Her personal journey into yoga was deeply shaped by healing her own sciatic pain and chronic tension through consistent practice, mindful movement, and nervous-system regulation. What began as a way to manage discomfort became a lifelong devotion to yoga as a sustainable, compassionate, and empowering tool for the body and mind.
Outside the studio, Elizabeth spends countless hours walking the trails of her farm with her dogs—an everyday ritual that grounds her, inspires her teaching, and reinforces her belief that gentle movement in nature is one of the most powerful forms of therapy. This love of walking meditation and outdoor presence later inspired her creation of the Walking in Stillness program.
Elizabeth is a certified yoga instructor, yoga sculpt instructor, sound healing practitioner, and chair yoga certified teacher. She is currently continuing her studies in an Alliance‑registered advanced teacher training program on the path toward her 500‑hour (RYT‑500) certification.
Located on a serene 40‑acre farm at Red Barn Farms in Live Oak, Florida, Twisted Roots offers something far beyond a traditional studio setting. Classes are held outdoors on the yoga deck surrounded by open land and fresh air, and soon inside the newly developed Yoga Barn—spaces thoughtfully created to invite calm, presence, and connection with nature into every practice.
Elizabeth specializes in beginner‑friendly yoga and immersive sound bath experiences using crystal singing bowls. Her sessions blend gentle flow, breathwork, restorative movement, and therapeutic sound to help students release stress, restore balance, and reconnect with themselves in a grounded and supportive environment.
With decades of experience teaching yoga, aerobics, and group fitness, along with years of personal yoga practice, Elizabeth brings both technical knowledge and deep compassion to her classes. Students often describe her approach as calming, intuitive, and encouraging—meeting people exactly where they are.
In addition to her wellness background, Elizabeth holds a Master’s degree in Architectural Design Studies with a specialization in Sustainable Studies and biophilic design—the practice of creating spaces that support human well‑being through natural light, organic materials, airflow, and connection to the outdoors.
She has applied these principles directly to the design of her farm‑based studio and Yoga Barn, creating environments intentionally crafted to promote nervous‑system regulation, calm, and restoration.
Twisted Roots is intentionally not a cookie‑cutter studio. Elizabeth offers small class sizes, individualized guidance, and carefully curated sequences that she designs herself—much like architectural plans—tailored to different bodies, energy levels, and wellness goals. Each program is built with purpose, accessibility, and long‑term well‑being in mind.
Beyond the farm, Elizabeth leads yoga and sound healing workshops throughout the local community, partnering with regional organizations, libraries, and wellness initiatives to make holistic practices accessible to a wider audience.
Elizabeth is also the founder of Sounds of Stillness, a dedicated sound healing offering centered on deep rest and nervous‑system support, and the creator of Walking in Stillness—a nature‑based experience combining gentle walking meditation, mindfulness, and embodied awareness across the farm’s natural landscape.
Through Twisted Roots Yoga Studio, Sounds of Stillness, and Walking in Stillness, Elizabeth has created a one‑of‑a‑kind sanctuary where nature, design, movement, and sound come together to support meaningful, sustainable well‑being.
